How the controllers work...

The controller consists of a main control box and optional operator control panel.  In special purpose applications, custom firmware can be stored in Eprom or Flash memory. In profile cutting applications, the TekMOV firmware is used for control, and permits the operator to select jobs to cut, adjust speeds, jog the position of the machine, set origins etc. from the control panel on the machine. 

  • The jobs which the machine will cut are stored as files on a PC, and are sent to the controller when needed via the TEKMOV "DNC" (Direct Numerical Control) plot spooling program during cutting.
  • The  number of jobs that can be stored is limited only by the hard disk space on the computer.
  • The plot files are made in Industry Standard HPGL - ll language, which is supported by all leading software programs.  This rich control language contains commands needed to fully control all aspects of work done in profile cutting, including 3D profiling.
  • The firmware of the controller is configured by the TEKMOV Windows '95-98  Plot Spooling program, and stored in Flash Memory.  All aspects of the configuration such as resolutions, speeds, accelerations relay switching etc. are set from the user friendly setup menus on the host computer.

Job Management
Jobs are selected from Operator Interface, using Windows 95 Long Filename format
Job files can be stored in sub directories on the hard disk, making it easy to keep them organized
Jobs can be deleted from the Operator interface
Scrolling Job List sorts jobs by name or date, making for fast selection
Job elapsed time is displayed, allowing job chargable time to be calculated easily
Spindle Operation Time is logged
Minor and Major Service Interval warnings shown on Operator Interface panel when timed out
User definable maintenance intervals - Operator is prompted to service machine
